Better than sex

I have known it for a while, but have purposefully refused to acknowledge it - the worst part of my depression is knowing the fact that she's moved on and I - no matter what I do- just cannot! I am at a standstill sitting on the edge of the Niagara Falls. I just wish somebody would simply push me...

Most of you probably are reading this post because of the title and not because you are simply concerned of my welfare. So for those of you, behold: it is best that you learn the truth now - there is nothing better than sex, except probably:

  1. Licking the bowl after you've made that yummy chocolate cake
  2. Finally getting your turn to pee after holding it for an hour during the football half-time
  3. Nuzzling the ear-bud in your ears after a long hot shower.

Most of you will still find sex better. Well, who am I to argue?

It's my friend's wedding today... but I am not happy

Hai aaj mere yaar ki shaadi magar... main khush nahin hoon
(It's my friend's wedding today... but I am not happy)

Hai kisike pyaar ki shaadi magar... main khush nahin hoon
(It's a wedding of someone's love today... but I am not happy)

Maine roka usey, toka usey, samjhaya bhi
(I stopped her, forbade her, even tried to convince her)

Deke vaasta apni yaari ka manaya bhi
(Pleaded her as well for the sake of our friendship)

Uski raah ka pathar bana
(I became a stone of her path)

aur kaanta bhi
(and a thorn too)

Phool banke uske saamne murjhaya bhi
(wilted before her as a flower too)

Lekar ke chaldiya hai woh baharein, dahej mein
(but she has moved taking along the blossoms of the spring as her dowry)

Hai gul-e-gulzar ki shaadi magar main khush nahin hoon
(it's the wedding of the flower of the garden, but I am not happy)

Hai aaj mere yaar ki shaadi magar... main khush nahin hoon
(It's my friend's wedding today... but I am not happy)

Hai kisike pyaar ki shaadi magar... main khush nahin hoon
(It's a wedding of someone's love today... but I am not happy)

Fallen Art

There are times when the horrible person within you takes over and you are compelled to act on feelings that can compare you to Hannibal Lecter.

You know its wrong. You know its against all the morals that you were brought up with. You know deep within you need to stop - but you just can't control that feeling. Its as if someone has taken over your body.

Here is an animation to what I am feeling today:

The background the story is: An old, forgotten military base somewhere in the Pacific. Soldiers who lost their minds, due to the hardships of past missions, and ... all exemplary officers the Army can't yet get rid of are sent there. There, far away from civilization, laws and rules they nurture their insanities.

Love the saxophone and the dance steps, by the way... (evil laugh sounding in the backdrop)

Is your jar full?

When things in your life seem almost to much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar......and the beer.

A Professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the Professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The Professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "Yes."

The Professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the Professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - your family, your children, your health, your friends, your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff."

"If you put the sand into the jar first", he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house, and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

When he had finished, there was a profound silence. Then one of the students raised her hand and with a puzzled expression, inquired what the beer represented.

The Professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers."
